The Story of the Collection
Ted's homage to the menu
Restaurant planning and development strategist Ted Barber became enchanted with the art and history of cuisine, leading to a passion for collecting and curating dining memorabilia. After acquiring his first autographed menu in 1972, he began seriously collecting vintage menus.
His collection — carefully curated over 50 years — represents 200 years of American culinary history, and is the largest private collection of vintage and rare menus in the United States.
"In Ted's view, a menu isn't just a list of food items, it's the very heart of a restaurant — a stamp in time of culinary heritage, and deep cultural storytelling."
